The Europe-Caucasus-Asia Transit Corridor (TRACECA) supports container cargo transportation between the ports of Azerbaijan and Georgia

An important news was announced at the TRACECA forum: the organization is ready to support container transportation between the seaports of Azerbaijan and Georgia. This will not only relieve the checkpoints, but also speed up the movement of goods between countries.

TRACECA Secretary General Asset Asavbayev stressed that the long time spent crossing the Azerbaijani-Georgian border in May-June 2023 shows how important it is to improve the border capacity. The plan for the introduction of container transportation is designed to significantly accelerate this process and support the development of bilateral business.

The work of Azerbaijan and Georgia on the creation of a single checkpoint was also highlighted, which will make the process of moving goods even more efficient. The countries actively support innovations in transit routes, which will be an additional impetus for economic growth.
