Promising cooperation: Ingushetia and Georgia are considering the possibility of direct flights
Ingushetia expressed interest in establishing direct flights with Georgia, emphasizing the historical ties between the peoples of both republics. During the fifth meeting of the Russian-Georgian Business Council (RGDS), representatives of Ingushetia expressed a desire to organize direct flights from Magas to various cities of Georgia. The Chairman of the Council, Yuri Balashov, discussed this interest in an exclusive interview with Sputnik Georgia.
The Russian-Georgian Business Council, established in February 2023, is designed to strengthen economic relations between the two countries. During the meeting in Magas, the topics of tourism in Russia and Georgia were discussed, as well as the participation of regions in the development of domestic tourism.
The participants of the meeting visited the tourist sites of Ingushetia and the ancient Christian temple of Thaba-Yerdy. Tourism statistics show an increase in the number of visitors to Georgia by Russian citizens. In January-September 2023, 1.1 million Russian citizens visited Georgia, which is 47.3% more than in the same period of 2022. The total number of international travelers to Georgia increased by 43%.
In connection with these trends, an exhibition of Georgian agricultural products, including wine, will be held in Moscow on December 11. More than 20 Georgian companies will take part in the event aimed at popularizing and simplifying the supply of Georgian goods to the Russian market.
