Expectations exceeded: The Great Pirosmani Exhibition in Denmark captured the hearts of more than 260,000 visitors

The art of Niko Pirosmani, the great Georgian primitive artist, turned out to be at the top of success in Denmark, where 260 thousand visitors visited the exhibition of his works at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. The museum, located in Humlebeck, a suburb of Copenhagen, is proud of its reputation as one of the most visited in Denmark and is among the ten most popular tourist attractions.

The exhibition, presented in "Louisiana" from the beginning of May to the middle of August, was assessed as a great success, and it undoubtedly became the event of the year for everyone interested in art. The museum staff expressed deep gratitude to the Ministry of Culture of Georgia for the opportunity to present the works of this talented artist to the Danish and world public.

After the completion of the Danish exhibition, Pirosmani's works will go to the next museum - the Museum of the Beyeler Foundation in Rien, Switzerland. There they will be available for visiting from September 17 to January 28, 2024.

Niko Pirosmani (1862-1918) left a rich legacy as a famous artist of the XX century, although in his life he often faced poverty and misunderstanding. The splendor of his work is recognized by the world art criticism community.

Born into a poor peasant family, Pirosmani did not receive a professional art education. However, his works, saturated with soul and feeling, have left an indelible mark on the art world. In portraits and landscapes Pirosmani turned everyday scenes and images of old Tbilisi into works of art, conveying them with sincerity and intensity that remained in the hearts of the audience forever.

At the end of the world tour, Pirosmani's works will return to Georgia, where they will continue to inspire and delight new generations of art critics and art lovers.
