The United Nations will help Georgian tourism
The Governor of the region, G. Guguchiya, and the representative of the United Nations, O. Konjaria, recently got acquainted with the progress of work on projects that are being implemented under the auspices of the United Nations Development Program.
In total, six tourism projects were financed within the framework of the event in Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti: the development of infrastructure for sport fishing, an ethnocenter, a climbing area and shopping pavilions in the tourist area of the canyon.
Last year, over $265,000 was provided for their financing.
According to the country's leadership, the equipment of new points of trade should support domestic businessmen. For the same purpose, three local non-governmental organizations received grants from the UN.
The program is implemented jointly with the authorities and the Ministry of Regional Development of Georgia
