⛅️ Climate change in Tbilisi and ways to fight.
🌫 The Mayor of the capital of Georgia made a presentation at the conference, which was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the EU project "Agreement of Mayors - Eastern Partnership" (Com – East). The event is attended by over 150 representatives of local and national authorities from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova, and of course EU members.
🗣 In his speech, Kaladze noted that in 2010 he joined the agreement of mayors, after which the city administration sought to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the capital by 2020.
👥 Kaladze told how Tbilisi struggles with climatic fluctuations. Exactly:
- active landscaping is underway (creation of new squares and parks in the city);
- updated the fleet of buses and minibuses in Tbilisi (with the help of international donors);
- equipped with 27 kilometers of bike trails;
- a solid waste prevention strategy and action plan has been developed.
