Georgian airlines conquer Turkish skies: updated agreement expands opportunities
Georgian airlines can now provide their services at any airport in Turkey thanks to the successful renewal of the air service agreement between the two countries. Having previously restricted their flight rights to only a few cities, the new agreement expands the geography of their activities.
The memorandum signed by representatives of the Georgian and Turkish aviation authorities opens up unlimited opportunities for Georgian air carriers to use all existing international airports in Turkey for scheduled flights.
This significant update comes after successful negotiations held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the framework of the International Civil Aviation Negotiations (#ican2023) with the support of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Representatives of both countries also participated in the talks, who discussed prospects for strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of aviation.
This agreement provides Georgian airlines with new opportunities in the field of air transportation, opening the door to a wider and more flexible air service between Georgia and Turkey.
