Hectares of red in Dublin
Dublin is famous for hectares of red. It is here that shrub poinsettia from the genus Euphorbiaceae is grown.
The second name is the Christmas star. The plant usually decorates shop windows in December, because it is during these frosty days that flowering occurs. However, the flowers of the poinsettia are small and even inconspicuous, but the leafy base is red. The rosette of leaves really resembles a star.
European and American Christmas involves the purchase and decoration of poinsettias, this tradition has been maintained for more than two hundred years.
The Dublin nursery supplies many cities and countries with a Christmas flower star, which takes a little more than six months to be distilled. The appearance of this miracle occurred in 1827 — the botanist J. R. Poinsett brought it from the Mexican expanses. In the care of pouncettia is fastidious, because the lady is of a tropical nature, loves illuminated places, but not with direct rays.
Winter blooming has made the flower a Christmas tradition.
