The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. Trinity churches are many in Kakheti, and in villages they were usually set on a rise with a view over the valley.
Napareuli stands on the left bank of the Alazani, at the foot of the Caucasus range. The name of the town is known far beyond Kakheti: it belongs to one of the old wine appellations of the country, and the vineyards reach the streets themselves. Beside the church stand a church of St. George and the place known here as the outpost of a monk, while two kilometres off begins Artana with shrines of its own.
The town is busy and easy to reach, the road from Telavi paved. The church is in use: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet inside. In autumn, during the grape harvest, the district is crowded. Wineries work in the town, and a visit to the church fits easily into a walk.
