The Valerian Kirkitadze Museum keeps documents, photographs, personal belongings and material connected with the name it carries. Collections like this take shape around a single biography and gradually absorb the memory of the place where they stand. Everything is shown in person, so the visit turns out informal.
The museum is in Tserovani, in the Mtskheta municipality, by the highway between Tbilisi and Gori. Around it are the plain, fields and a settlement that grew up in recent decades. Mtskheta is fifteen minutes away and Tbilisi about half an hour.
The collection is intimate and half an hour is enough. The first half of the day is the easier time, and it is better to arrange the visit in advance. Its position by the highway makes the museum a convenient stop on the way into Shida Kartli.
Tips
- Use the museum as a stop on the way to Gori or Mtskheta

- Come in the first half of the day
How to get there
- From Tbilisi along the highway towards Gori, about half an hour by car
