Temple of Bagrat

The most enthusiastic emotions await you during an excursion to the Bagrat Temple in Kutaisi. The thousand-year history surrounding the cathedral permeates through everyone who is nearby. The temple building was destroyed several times during attacks and wars, but this does not in the least prevent it from looking powerful and majestic so far.
The relics of the saints are kept in the Temple; for Christians, this is a miraculous and sacred place.

This temple, located in the center of old Kutaisi, is an impressive structure, restored from scratch with the participation of M. Saakashvili. The restoration preserved all the old forms, with the exception of the northern part of the temple, made of iron both outside and inside. For me personally, this fact does not pose any inconvenience, but the spiritual community expressed its indignation. Nevertheless, the temple was restored with the participation of Saakashvili - “either this way or not at all!”
On the south side of the temple there is a magnificent view of the city. On the temple grounds there is a huge tree, the top of which was struck by lightning many years ago. Since then, the tree has been left with a flat top, half as low as it could have been. -

This imposing temple, located in the historical center of Kutaisi, has undergone a complete reconstruction thanks to the efforts of M. Saakashvili. It retains all of its ancient forms, with the exception of the northern part, which is made of iron both inside and out. Some members of the spiritual community resented this fact, but Saakashvili's decision was clear: it was necessary to rebuild the temple the way he did.The south side of the temple offers a magnificent view of the city. On the territory you can see a huge tree, the top of which was struck by lightning long ago. Since then, this tree has maintained a flat top, lower than it should have been originally.

Двигаясь по дорогам Кутаиси, все внимание обращено на этот храм, который возвышается над городом. Отлично сохранился, не смотря на свой возраст. Для людей, которые близки к религии, это место можно назвать "место силы". Даже для меня, для человека, который не может сказать о себе что религиозный, в этом месте как-то тихо и спокойно и думаешь только о хорошем. Будете в Кутаиси, обязательно посетите этот храм.
