This temple, located in the center of old Kutaisi, is an impressive structure, restored from scratch with the participation of M. Saakashvili. The restoration preserved all the old forms, with the exception of the northern part of the temple, made of iron both outside and inside. For me personally, this fact does not pose any inconvenience, but the spiritual community expressed its indignation. Nevertheless, the temple was restored with the participation of Saakashvili - “either this way or not at all!”

On the south side of the temple there is a magnificent view of the city. On the temple grounds there is a huge tree, the top of which was struck by lightning many years ago. Since then, the tree has been left with a flat top, half as low as it could have been.
