Georgian has two close words for small shrines, samlotsvelo and salotsavi, and both denote a place of prayer without a full parish. The St. George site in the southern part of Gori is recorded exactly that way.
That is its main difference from the four city churches of Gori, which have clergy, a timetable and a congregation. Small forms like this are placed in cities at crossroads, in courtyards and at entrances, wherever it is convenient to stop for a minute on the way. That is why they rarely enter guidebooks.
There are no regular services here and you can come at any time of day. Dress soberly and treat the building with care. The four city churches of Gori stand further north, closer to the centre and the fortress hill.
