Where is Gudauri, and when is the season?

Short answer
Gudauri is a ski resort in Georgia's Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, on the Georgian Military Road about 120 kilometres north of Tbilisi. The drive takes about 2-2 and a half hours. The ski season usually runs from mid-December to mid-April, with slopes at roughly 2,000 to 3,200 metres.

- The resort is on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus near the Jvari Pass.
- Gudauri is divided into Lower, New and Upper parts, each with its own hotels and lifts.

Details
In winter the pass sees heavy snow and temporary road closures, so check conditions before you go. Stepantsminda and Gergeti Church are about an hour away.
