What resorts are there in Georgia?
Seaside, ski and spa resorts.
Short answer
Georgia has three kinds of resorts: Black Sea beach resorts (Batumi, Kobuleti, Ureki, Shekvetili, Gonio), ski resorts (Gudauri, Bakuriani, Goderdzi and the Mestia resorts in Svaneti) and spa resorts with mineral waters (Borjomi, Tskaltubo, Sairme). The ski season runs roughly from December to April, and the beach season from late June to late September.
Why
- Gudauri is the country's biggest ski resort, while Bakuriani suits families and beginners.
- Goderdzi in the Adjara mountains is the closest to Batumi.
- Borjomi and Tskaltubo have been known since the 19th century and have sanatoriums.
Details
Many ski resorts are developed by the state mountain resorts company. Summer is also a season in the mountains, with hiking, paragliding and cool air.
