Where can you buy souvenirs in Tbilisi?
The Dry Bridge, Old Town, markets and wine shops.
Short answer
Souvenirs in Tbilisi are sold in Old Town shops near Meidan and on Erekle II Street, at the Dry Bridge flea market with vintage items, paintings and jewellery, and in wine and chacha shops. Spices, churchkhela and cheese are cheaper at Dezerter Bazaar. Minankari enamel, ceramics and drinking horns are sold in workshops and galleries.
Why
- Bargaining is normal at the Dry Bridge and markets.
- Airport souvenirs are much dearer than in town.
- Exporting antiques may require a permit.
Details
Pack wine and chacha tightly in checked luggage and check your destination's import limits. Spices and Svan salt travel well in small packets.
