How do you get from Batumi to Kobuleti?
Minibus, train or taxi for 30 kilometres.
Short answer
Kobuleti is about 25-30 kilometres north of Batumi, a 30-40 minute trip. Minibuses and buses run often from central Batumi, the train stops there, and an app taxi usually costs 30-50 GEL. In summer many people go from Batumi to Kobuleti for the day for its sand-and-pebble beach.
Why
- Minibuses stop on request along the road, handy for getting off at your beach.
- On the way you can visit the Botanical Garden or Petra fortress at Tsikhisdziri.
- Traffic is heavier in the evening in season, so allow extra time.
Details
The train is convenient if you're staying near Batumi station. The last minibuses back from Kobuleti leave in the evening; at night a taxi is easier.
