Armenia or Georgia: which is better for a holiday?
How they differ for travellers and how to combine both.
Short answer
People choose Georgia for variety: the Black Sea, the high Caucasus, wine and cuisine, and Russian citizens can stay visa-free for a full year. Armenia is more compact and landlocked but famous for ancient monasteries, Lake Sevan, Yerevan and brandy, and Russians can enter even with an internal passport. Many combine both: Tbilisi to Yerevan is about 5-6 hours by road.
