Chalet Hatsvali near Mestia plans to add accommodation by summer 2027

The family business Chalet Hatsvali (შალე ჰაწვალი) near Mestia plans to expand its accommodation by summer 2027. Founder Barbara Udesiani said so in an interview published by BMG on 2 November 2026. According to her, total overnight capacity from that season will be approximately 12 to 15 guests at the same time.

The family began with food service in 2023. Guests repeatedly asked whether they could stay overnight, so accommodation was added to the food service. It opened at the end of July 2026, the founder said.

It is a self-contained space on the second floor with two bedrooms, a living room and a bathroom. At present it is rented as a whole to one family or one group of friends.

The food-service area holds approximately 100 diners at a time, counting the indoor hall, open and covered terraces and the yard together. The chalet stands near the Mestia-Hatsvali cable car, and a walking route passes through its yard. The founder explained the expansion by summer demand and added that guests also visited in autumn. In her assessment, summer demand for accommodation exceeded expectations, so work on additional accommodation has already started.
