The area around the village of Kvibisi in the municipality of Borjomi concentrates many religious buildings. The Church of the Archangel, one of the attractions of Georgia, is located precisely in Kvibisi. The walls of the building are decorated with paintings. Kvibisi Church is a medieval monument. It is located in the village Kvibisi. Presumable date of construction of Kvibisi Archangel's church refers scientists to the XII century - the exact time is unknown.
The architecture of the church is of a hall type. It has an extension on the southern side, which affects the whole length of the facades. The interior space of the main hall ends with an apse of semicircular shape in the east.
The longitudinal walls are divided by pilasters. On the west side of the structure there is an arch leaning on the brackets. The cylindrical vault of the southern annex is supported by the arch, which is suspended on consoles.
The church apertures are made without any frills. The backroom and the annex have one entrance from the south side, each of them is marked with a beautiful stone laid on the top of the opening.
The cathedral has seven rectangular windows, cornice shelves and a slightly curved recessed profile. The interior walls of the building are completely painted in multicolored shades - they are decorated with frescoes.
The material for the construction of this structure was roughly processed stone of different sizes. The main hall is covered with a tin, two-level roof and the annex itself has a single roof.
Outside the temple there is a yard, which is surrounded with a low stone wall. This cathedral is remarkable for its unique proportions and superb building workmanship.
