The Woodworking Museum in Batumi is a small private collection devoted to working with wood: the tools, the carving, the joinery techniques. The owner shows the pieces in person and explains how the timbers and the methods differ, so a visit is closer to a conversation with a craftsman than to walking past display cases. For a craft collection that format is an advantage.
The museum occupies a space in a residential building on Luka Asatiani street, in central Batumi, close to the older quarters. The area is good for walking: the boulevard, Piazza square and the old wooden balconies worth looking up for are all nearby. The entrance is through a residential stairwell, so go by the apartment number.
The museum is open daily from ten in the morning until six in the evening. Half an hour is enough for the visit. The collection is a home one, so it is worth calling ahead to say you are coming.
