My review is quite mixed and you'll need to read it all for a full understanding. I initially planned to write a frustrated one-star review, but the owner made a commendable gesture and gave us a beautiful, clean room with an incredible view. So, my first night deserves one star, while my second night earns five stars, resulting in an average rating.
The first room was unsatisfactory: it lacked cleanliness (there were hairs in the shower), no toilet paper or towels, and dirty glasses (if you end up here, avoid drinking from their cups).
Service was poor—there was no hot water, and the receptionist said he couldn't help us, claiming the water felt hot to him. That felt like gaslighting. Additionally, the faucet was installed incorrectly, indicating a lack of attention to detail.
A budget hotel should be affordable because it offers smaller rooms or fewer amenities, not because the staff and owners have set low expectations.
On our first night, there was a disturbance at 3 AM with intoxicated guests arguing in the hallway. The building's acoustics amplify noise, and one tourist even tried to break down my door after I asked them to quiet down. While that wasn't the hotel's fault, their response time was notably slow.
The smell in the room was unpleasant, reminiscent of sewage mixed with sweat and dusty drapes that rarely see fresh air.
However, the manager came across as an honorable Georgian man and promised to find a solution for us the next day. And he truly delivered! He arranged for us to stay in a room with an amazing view—Old Tbilisi at night is a sight to behold, and the room itself was perfect.
