The museum is devoted to Niko Lortkipanidze, a prose writer of the first half of the twentieth century whose stories and novellas entered the Georgian canon. The house keeps the setting, the writing desk, the books, the manuscripts and the photographs. The collection is rural in scale but literary in substance, and that is a rare combination.
The house stands in Zemo Chuneshi, a village in the Tskaltubo municipality, on the hills above the resort area. Around it are orchards, forest and the roads towards Tskaltubo and the Prometheus cave. The place is quiet, away from the tourist flow.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from nine in the morning until six in the evening, closed on Monday. Half an hour is enough. A phone number is listed and the visit is worth arranging in advance for a group.
Tips
- Do not plan the visit for Monday, that is the closed day

- Call ahead if you want a guided account
How to get there
- From Tskaltubo along the local road towards Chuneshi, about twenty minutes by car
