The Nikoloz Shiukashvili House Museum keeps the setting of the house and material tied to the name of its owner: documents, photographs, books and everyday things. Memorial houses in Telavi are also interesting for the town fabric around them: nineteenth century buildings, courtyards with galleries, stone walls. It is shown in person, so the visit is unhurried.
The house stands on Nadikvari street, in the old part of Telavi, next to the park and the viewpoint over the Alazani valley. From here opens the view of the Caucasus range that people climb up to Telavi for. The Batonis Tsikhe fortress and the town centre are minutes away.
The museum is open daily from ten in the morning until six in the evening. Half an hour is enough. Combine the trip with a walk through Nadikvari and the fortress.
