The Vokzalnaya Square interchange station is a key node in the Tbilisi metro network, connecting the Akhmeteli-Varketili and Saburtalo lines. This is the only transfer hub in the city, opened on January 11, 1966.
The station is located on the Akhmeteli-Varketili line between the Nadzaladevi and Marjanishvili stations, with three exits: to the station; to the Central Market of Tbilisi; and to the Nadzaladevi area on Tsotne Dadiani Avenue. Until 2011, the station was called "Vagzlis moedani".
Station Square 2, opened in September 1979, is the terminus of the Saburtalo line and offers a transfer to the Akhmeteli-Varketili line (Station Square 1). The station has two exits, one of which leads to Tbilisi Central Station, and the other to Tsotne Dadiani Avenue.
Operating time:
- Opening hours: Daily from 6:00 to 00:00.
- Traffic interval: During rush hour - about 2 minutes; in the evening - about 10 minutes.
Payment system:
Tbilisi Metro offers a fare payment system through Metromoney plastic cards, which are also applicable on city buses.
- Metromoney is sold at metro ticket offices and at both stations of the Rike - Narikala cable car.
- Card cost: 2 GEL. If you return the card within a month and show the purchase receipt, you get the 2 GEL back.
- Fare: 1 lari (GEL) for 90 minutes of travel on the metro, municipal buses and minibuses.
- The Bagebi - University cable car is included in the 90-minute package. The Rike - Narikala cable car is paid separately: 2.5 GEL one way.
