Varketili metro station (Georgian: ვარკეთილი), located on the Akhmeteli-Varketili line of the Tbilisi metro, is the southern terminus of this line. Located after the Samgori station, the Varketili station was opened on November 9, 1985 and is located at a depth of 33 meters.
The station project was developed by the architect V. Bakhtadze, with design from the Tbilgorproekt organization. The station has undergone several renovations, the last of which was carried out in 2007, followed by a complete renovation of the interior in 2017. It is important to note that in January 2018, part of the station’s ceiling collapsed, injuring about 15 people.
