Save the Children International, an independent organization for the protection of children in Tbilisi, is part of a representative office in Georgia, which began its work in 1993. Over the years of its existence, the organization has changed its focus from humanitarian assistance to the development of programs aimed at protecting children's rights and supporting vulnerable families and communities. Save the Children International actively collaborates with government agencies and other stakeholders to implement and develop reforms in the field of child protection and inclusive education.
The organization provides assistance to internally displaced communities, youth, children living and working on the streets, and vulnerable families. Thanks to partnerships with the government, many of Save the Children International's innovative approaches and programs have been approved and are now funded from the government budget. Since 2016, the Georgia office has moved to an advocacy and partnership model, allowing for more effective engagement with local civil society actors and a focus on long-term programs.
Key areas of activity include strengthening families, alternative forms of child care and inclusive education. The organization strives to ensure the safety and protection of the rights of children in Georgia, creating favorable conditions for their full development and realization of their potential. Save the Children International invites stakeholders who share a desire to improve the lives of children and their families in the region to collaborate.
