The Freedom Monument is located on the central square in Tbilisi. The very height of the monument is quite impressive – thirty-five meters in height!
The column on which the figure of St. George is located is made of granite blocks, and the Saint himself and some of the decorating elements are gold.
In the evening, the whole figure is beautifully illuminated and glares. The monument was erected in 2006 and is dedicated to the freedom and independence of the Georgian people.
Around the monument, on the square, they often sing live songs, play instruments. We certainly recommend visiting the square itself and paying attention to the monument of Freedom.
