Cafe Veliaminov has a simple interior in the style of an old Georgian basement cafe, but it is quite nice. The wooden tables in the hall look good. At the entrance to Velminov there is an inviting figure of a fat-headed Georgian. The cafe is only a couple of steps away from Freedom Square, but the prices for food and drinks are low. It is famous for its large portions of khinkali, kebabs, shashlik and khachapuri. You can order draught beer or homemade wine, delicious lemonade or compote, real strong chacha. The staff is rather fast. The menu is offered to Velyaminov café visitors in Georgian and English.

I've never written a review before, but this experience was outrageous. I don't want to come off as a rude tourist, but the server's attitude towards my girlfriend was unacceptable. She couldn't understand what he was saying about the drink flavors, and after asking three times and apologizing, he sighed and rolled his eyes, questioning if she understood anything at all. It's appalling how someone can treat a customer like that, let alone another person. The food was decent, but if I could rate the service a zero, I would. This incident alone made it a one-star experience for me.
