Vake Park is a city park in Tbilisi, located between Chavchavadze Avenue, Mishveladze Street and the rise of Nino Tskhvedadze.
Vake Park is located in the eponymous district of the city, stretching in a horizontal strip on the right bank of the Kura, north of Mtatsminda Mountain. The area of the modern park is 200 hectares. Vake Park was opened in 1946 on the territory of a former wasteland. In Soviet times it was called Victory Park. The central composition of the park "Vake" is the Memorial of Glory with a 28-meter statue of Victory.
Turtle Lake is located in the vicinity of the park on one of the peaks of the Trialet ridge. An aerial cable car has been "laid" from Chavchavadze Avenue to the lake, which was updated in 2016 after 9 years of downtime.
The Tbilisi Ethnographic Museum operates in the Vake Park, where expositions reflecting the culture of Georgia are presented. At the top of the mountain, near the descent to Turtle Lake, there is an observation deck with a stunning panorama of the city.
