Kiwi Vegan Café is an informal vegan cafe and hub for young people. Kiwi Cafe became famous all over the world after the curious "meat pogrom" of 2016, when radicals broke in there with sausages – since then, the cafe has only gained popularity among the free-thinking public.
It was probably the only fully vegan establishment in the Caucasus: “Outside of seasonal fast menus, probably the only vegan place in the Caucasus. The food is cheap, excellent, and the wine is dry”.
Translated: the food here is inexpensive and stunningly delicious – the guests especially like falafel, tofu burgers, curries, and vegan cakes.
The atmosphere is very relaxed: the walls are painted by artists, there is a book exchange, film screenings and concerts take place in the evenings.
Kiwi Cafe is located in a basement at 6 Makashvili St. (next to Rustaveli Avenue) and has a cult status among alternative youth.
The reviews are mostly enthusiastic, although the service can be slow – no one is in a hurry here.
Nevertheless, the cafe holds a high rating of ~4.5, and guests appreciate its unique atmosphere and delicious plant-based food.
For all vegetarians and just the curious, Kiwi is a must–visit point.
