Cheburechnaya on Abanotubani is an iconic snack bar in the sulfur baths area, known as the best place in Tbilisi to eat chebureks.
This is a modest cafe without frills, but the chebureks here are excellent: "A very cozy place with amazing chebureks — they are real, crispy and juicy."
There are about ten types of chebureks on the menu with different fillings (classic ones with beef, cheese, mushrooms, etc.), which are fried directly when ordering, rather than reheated.
Homemade dumplings (there are even fried ones) and kharcho soup are also prepared. Chebureks are served with cold draft beer of the local brand.
The atmosphere is Soviet–style, the service is unhurried, but this does not deter visitors - the legendary Cheburechnaya is in demand among both residents (from grandfathers nostalgic for the USSR to hipsters) and tourists.
The prices here are more than affordable: you can have a snack for a couple of lari.
Although the service is not fast, many are willing to wait for the most delicious chebureks in the city.
This place is a real flavor, a piece of old Tbilisi, where a budget gourmet should look.
