Nikolozi Cafe is a small family cafe with real homemade Georgian cuisine, hidden on Anton Catholikosi St., 34 (Sololaki).

Nikolozi is often referred to as the place with the most soulful food in the city. "A small, family-friendly, cozy and soulful cafe.

Home–made authentic Georgian cuisine, where the hostess cooks delicious food herself, excellent ..." - this is how the traveler describes it. And it's true: the cafe owner's name is Dodo, and she cooks according to recipes her mother taught her.

There are few items on the menu – several types of khinkali, kharcho soup, vats, vegetable salads, homemade wine. The highlight is seasonal dishes: for example, in spring they can offer a soup of young nettles or fried Georgian mushrooms.

The decor is very simple, as if there are only five tables in someone's house, and the decor is in the form of family photos.

Due to this format, the guests feel like they are visiting a friendly hostess. The prices are ridiculous for the city center, and the quality is excellent – it's not for nothing that Nikolozi is one of the three best inexpensive establishments in Tbilisi on TripAdvisor.

The only problem is that the cafe is tiny and often fully occupied, so it's better to arrive early.

If you want to taste real homemade Georgian food and socialize with the locals, Nikolozi Cafe is a must–see on the itinerary.

    Этот грузинский ресторан в Тбилиси создает ощущение, будто вы попали в чью-то уютную домашнюю атмосферу. Кажется, что вас приглашают в частный дом, а не в обычное заведение. Обстановка здесь домашняя и семейная. Персонал говорит на английском не очень хорошо, но у них есть меню на английском, что очень облегчает выбор. Стоит обратить внимание на то, что принимают только наличные, поэтому лучше приходить подготовленным.

    Я начал с лобио и копченого мяса. Обычно фасоль подают в пюреобразном виде, но здесь она была целой, что стало приятным открытием. Думаю, мне даже больше понравился такой вариант. Приготовлено и приправлено все было отлично.

    На основное блюдо я выбрал особенное блюдо с курицей. Оно напоминало "Мадам Бовари", виденное мною в других местах, но здесь было вкуснее: мясо нежное, а сочетание сыра и помидоров — насыщенное и удовлетворяющее.

    С десертами выбор небольшой, поэтому взял бисквит с фруктами. Легкий и приятный на вкус. Порции в этом месте немного меньше, чем обычно в Грузии, что может подойти тем, кто предпочитает легкий ужин. Единственным минусом была небольшая задержка с подачей, но в целом, это было приятное изменение темпа. Это место для тех, кто ищет более личный и аутентичный ужин, где чувствуешь себя гостем в грузинской семье.

    Feels like stepping into a Georgian home, the owner is super welcoming and the food is excellent! Watch out for the chacha, it's delicious and can quickly get to your head!

    This was undoubtedly the best food I've had in Tbilisi. The cuisine was delicious, with fresh ingredients that made every bite exceptional. The restaurant is incredibly cozy and charming, ensuring a delightful experience. The true highlight, though, is their unique semi-sweet wine from the cellar, which is unlike anything you'll find elsewhere. I also appreciated feeling like a valued guest rather than just another tourist, which was refreshing. Many thanks for the incredible hospitality and amazing meal!

    A wonderful family-owned place. The interior felt like a cozy museum filled with family treasures. The food was excellent, with probably the best ojakhuri and chkmeruli we've tasted. The hosts were incredibly kind and made us feel very welcome.

    The food here is unbelievably good and costs about half or even a third of what you'd pay at other nice restaurants in Tbilisi. The tomato cucumber salad is outstanding. It's a lovely family-run place, and they have their own wine, which is also amazing.

    O serviço é cordial. O ambiente é antigo, mas tem seu charme. A comida é apenas razoável. O prato de cogumelos com queijo deixa a desejar, parece que usam cogumelos enlatados com uma fatia de queijo por cima.

    This cozy, family-owned spot feels just like home. It’s wise to book a table ahead of time since they fill up quickly. The menu might not be extensive, but everything on it is absolutely delicious. The walls are adorned with family portraits, personal photos, drawings, and icons created by Jonah, one of the owners and managers. He and his family are incredibly hospitable and warm.
