Waking up a barber in Tbilisi led to an unexpectedly great haircut. I walked into a small barbershop to find the barber dozing in his chair. I hesitated at first, but since he was up, I went ahead. Despite his groggy start, he gave me a fantastic haircut, far exceeding my expectations. The whole experience was unique—watching a Georgian crime show on TV that I couldn’t understand, and a payment situation that ended with him telling me to bring cash later. The whole setup was chaotic yet charming. If you see the barber awake, you’re in luck. If he’s napping, wake him up; it’s worth it.
