The Kaloubani church stands near Zemo Khandaki village of Kaspi Municipality. The name of the area speaks for itself: ubani is Georgian for a quarter or part of a village, and kalo is a threshing floor.
Zemo Khandaki lies south of Kaspi, in the hills above the Mtkvari valley; Zemo means upper. Villages with churches of Kaspi Municipality are scattered along the neighbouring slopes.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and candles and offerings are left in their places.
