Tigva monastery stands in Tigva village in the north of Shida Kartli. It is one of the well-known monasteries of the region, and its name appears in the church history of Kartli.
The village lies in the valley of the Little Liakhvi, in the Caucasus foothills. The road to it runs from the south, from the plain of Kareli Municipality.
