The church of the Mother of God stands in Kvenatkotsa village in the west of Shida Kartli. The parish is a village one, and the church is known by the name of the village.
Kvenatkotsa lies north of Kareli, in the hills above the Kura valley, away from the main roads. Closer to the river, on a rise, stands the well-known church of Samtsevrisi.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and candles and offerings are left in their places.
