A church of St George and a monastery stand at Kashveti, south of Khashuri. The community is active and receives pilgrims. Do not confuse the place with Kashveti in Tbilisi on Rustaveli Avenue.
The site lies on a slope above the plain, away from villages. A kilometre and a half away stands the Jvartamaghleba church, and two kilometres on the Assumption parish of Koditskaro.
Ordinary monastic rules apply here: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet, and photography by permission.
