A new church is being built in Ghvlevi village in the west of Shida Kartli. No dedication has settled on it yet, and locally it is called simply the church under construction.
Ghvlevi lies north of Kareli, in the hills above the Kura valley. The village has a Lomisi shrine, and two old basilicas stand a couple of kilometres away in Koshkebi.
At the building site it is best to keep clear of the work. The place can be approached at any time, and the roads here are unpaved in parts.
