The ruined church lies in the surroundings of Gaveti village in Aspindza Municipality, in the Zemo Nyala locality. Sources place the building in the span from the 10th to the 15th century.
Today only the north and south walls remain of the church, and most of the facing stones have fallen away. On the south side, where the entrance must have stood, part of the wall has collapsed and the spot needs strengthening.
The plan and the details of the decoration cannot be established from two walls, so we keep to what is confirmed. If the ruins are cleared and stabilised, more will be able to be said about the building.
