The village church of Mazashi stands in Lechkhumi. Its dedication has not come down to us, and in the district the church is called simply after the village.
This is the only church of Racha Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti in this part of the area: the rest lie in Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, Imereti, Kakheti and Adjara. Mazashi lies east of Lentekhi, in the mountain valley of the Tskhenistsqali, where villages stand along the slopes and the roads drift over in winter.
There are no regular services, and visits are arranged with local people. It is better to come in the warm season: the mountain roads of Lechkhumi are not for every car in winter.
