The church of St. George stands in Tserovani. This is the parish church of a settlement rather than a village chapel: people come here constantly, and life around it is markedly busier than at most shrines of the district.
Tserovani lies on the plain north west of Mtskheta, by the road that runs from the capital towards Gori. The place is open and easy to reach: Mtskheta is about seven kilometres away, Kaspi twenty two. The nearest old house of prayer, the monastery of St. George near Mtskheta, stands almost six kilometres off and fits easily into the same trip. Further south begin the hills of Mtskheta.
The church is in use and well attended, and can be visited at ordinary hours in any weather. The rules are the same as everywhere: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet inside, photography by consent.
