The church of the Nativity of the Virgin stands in Satskhenisi, a village of Gardabani Municipality. The parish here is a living one and gathers every day, from morning to evening, which is not so common among the rural churches of the district.
Satskhenisi lies north-east of Tbilisi, in the foothills above the Iori valley. The village is not far from the capital yet lives by its own ways, and the church remains its chief gathering place.
On the spot it is worth remembering that even a settled order may change. The usual etiquette applies: covered shoulders and knees, quiet inside, and no photography without asking.
