The convent of St George stands in the Algetispira locality, near Didi Durnuki village. The name of the tract speaks for itself: algetispira means the bank of the Algeti, and the river runs not far away.
The place lies south-west of Tbilisi, in the foothills. There are three convents in this selection: besides this one there are Tsurtavi near Kolagiri and the community of St Ketevan near Tamarisi, and all three stand in different parts of Kvemo Kartli.
Monastic rules apply: covered shoulders and knees, quiet. A visit is best arranged in advance, especially for a group.
