The church of Saint George stands in the Oragveti nasoplari in Khoni Municipality, a kilometre and a half south of the road to Gelaveri, deep in the forest. The village has no inhabitants left: tradition holds that it emptied in the nineteen forties and fifties, and the year 1937 can be read on one of the gravestones around the church.
A level plot was chosen for the church. It is a small rectangular hall building of about eight metres by six, laid of well worked stones on lime mortar. The stones are broad and evidently worked as load bearing structure rather than facing alone, while the inner masonry is mixed. The walls survive to a height of over five metres.
The sanctuary holds two arched niches and a well worked altar table of a single monolith with a recessed top, now split in two and covered with a stone slab. Two jars are set into the sanctuary chamber for acoustics. The west facade is dressed with a composition on the architrave: a relief cross and a bas relief image of a sheep.
