  • Description

The museum, founded in 2003, is located in a 19th-century fortress and is a real historical treasure trove. We have over 353 unique items that belonged to the Khimshiashvili family, which reflect the wealth and cultural heritage of this land.

In the museum's collection you will find a variety of household items, including silver, copper, porcelain and ceramic vessels, as well as weapons, paintings and documentary and photographic materials. All these exhibits will tell you the story of the Khimshiashvili family and life in this region.

We are open to the public every day from 10:00 to 18:00, and what’s especially nice is that admission is absolutely free. We provide free entry for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (presenting a card with ID), people with disabilities (with a valid ID) and refugees.

We also organize permanent and temporary exhibitions in schools and offer educational programs such as museum classes to help our visitors better understand and appreciate the history and culture of this region.

Join us and take a fascinating journey into the past to the Selim Khimshiashvili Castle Museum in the village of Nigazauli!
