Old Tbilisi
Old Tbilisi is best explored on foot with your head tilted up, as carved wooden balconies hang over its narrow lanes. The gallery takes in the Betlemi quarter with its stone stairway and churches, the so-called Italian courtyards with shared wooden galleries and drying laundry, a painted entrance hall and old corner houses with cast iron balconies. Further down in Abanotubani you will find the brick domes of the sulfur baths, the blue tiled facade of the Orbeliani bath, the minaret of the Juma mosque and Meidan square. The leaning clock tower of the Gabriadze theatre and the statue of Vakhtang Gorgasali below Narikala complete the walk.
