"Dila" from Gori complicated its situation in the fight for entry to the next round of the Conference League, after losing in the first match of the third qualifying stage to Cyprus APOEL with a score of 0:2.

The first match of this exciting football duel was held at the Dynamo Arena in Tbilisi, and it was attended by about 15,000 spectators. A few minutes before the start of the match, the players of both teams honored the memory of those killed in the recent disasters with a minute of silence.

Despite the fact that Dila controlled the game in the first half, it did not help the team to avoid a goal pass at the end of the first half-time, when the visitors were able to score the ball and go ahead.

According to the scenario of the second half, the image of the game remained the same: the Gorians kept the ball and tried to dictate the pace, but again the guests were more successful in realizing the moments. In the 64th minute of the match, APOEL managed to double the difference in the score by scoring a free kick.

All Dila's hopes of reaching the next stage of the tournament are now transferred to the rematch. It is scheduled for August 17 and will take place at the stadium in Nicosia, Cyprus. It is there that the team from Gori will try to turn the situation in its favor and restore its position in the Conference League.
