This happened due to the rising water level in the ravine, which led to damage to part of the bridge and the roadway, but experts found a solution - to build a temporary bridge.

Since the collapse caused a lot of inconvenience to the movement of vehicles, the experts decided to organize the construction of a temporary bridge on this section of the road to facilitate movement. Specialists from the Department of Highways of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure report that work on the construction of a temporary bridge is currently underway at high intensity.

However, work on a temporary bridge is only a temporary solution, so specialists are actively engaged in design work for the future construction of a new bridge. When these design works are completed, the construction of the new bridge will begin in the near future. Until the new bridge is built, traffic will be carried out on a temporary bridge and a bypass road.

It is important to note that during the period when the temporary bridge is being built, cars should use local roads for movement, namely the Buknari-Nagomari bypass road. However, drivers of cars with trailers and trucks have the opportunity to use the Samtredia-Lanchkhuti-Grigoleti highway (S-12). These decisions were taken to ensure the safety and convenience of all road users during construction work.

Thus, despite minor difficulties on the road in western Georgia, specialists are actively engaged in solving the problem and building a temporary bridge that will facilitate movement until a new and reliable bridge is built.
