Let's make Tbilisi cleaner!

Tbilisi City Hall, together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, has been developing a waste management strategy for the capital over the past years.

The program includes the issues of separate collection of waste, as well as ways to process them and generate electricity at landfills. According to Vice Mayor of Tbilisi Andria Basilaya, in 2-3 years the capital will completely switch to sorting municipal waste. However, a number of problems must be solved first. This is the construction of a new gas collector, because the existing one is in disrepair. For the separate collection of waste, it is also planned to build sorting lines, while the number of bins is sufficient and there is no need for their additional construction.

The presentation of this strategy was attended by the director of Tbilservice Group LLC David Pachulia, as well as representatives of various ministries and non-governmental organizations participating in the project.
