ATTENTION PARENTS: CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS CAN BECOME DANGEROUS FOR YOUR CHILDREN!

Дети идут в школу

Historical moment: the Iashvili clinic in Tbilisi does not accept any children affected by pyrotechnics for the first time in all the years of its existence. Let us recall that every year, on the first days of the new year, our hospitals are filled with dozens of patients, many of whom are minors suffering from damage sustained during the operation of pyrotechnics. Doctors often have to make a decision to amputate fingers and even hands in order to save the lives of victims. This is a terrible statistic, but this year everything has changed!

What exactly led to such an amazing result? The passion and caution of the parents. These qualities have played a role in many families where parents have deliberately decided to limit the use of pyrotechnics in order to save the lives and health of their children. The head of the clinic, Ivan Chkhaidze, does not hide his surprise: "I do not know what is behind this, but we really hope that this is just an elementary sense of responsibility that is inherent in every caring parent before the new year."

In the past years, we have faced not only problems related to pyrotechnics, but also other injuries caused by various causes. However, it was pyrotechnics that was the most serious and frequent cause of injury to children. Fortunately, not a single child has been a victim of dangerous explosives this year. Last New Year's Eve, 8 children were taken to the Iashvili clinic with injuries sustained as a result of improper handling of pyrotechnics. All of these patients were hospitalized with injuries to their limbs or face. There have been cases where finger amputation has become unavoidable to prevent further spread of injuries.

Let's take this example into account and express our gratitude to all parents who made a responsible decision and did not put their children in danger. Remember that keeping your children safe and healthy is a top priority. Find other, safer ways to have fun during the holidays. Let's create a safe environment for our children and prevent injuries related to the use of pyrotechnics. They deserve only the best!
